Hikvision DS-2CD2383G2-IU 8MP EasyIP 2.0+ Turret Camera With AcuSense

The Hikvision DS-2CD2383G2-IU is an 8MP network turret camera. It’s part of the refreshed range of EasyIP 2.0+ network cameras, now featuring AcuSense technology.

AcuSense technology uses deep learning algorithms to accurately detect and classify humans and vehicles. In doing so, it greatly reduces false alarms which were typically caused by foliage, heavy rain and small animals. By focusing on humans and vehicles, alarm efficiency and effectiveness is vastly improved.

With a built-in microphone, the DS-2CD2383G2-IU becomes a useful and cost effective addition to surveillance systems by adding another level of evidence. Hikvision suggest that the microphone will record sound up to 5m away (dependent on the environment) so it is ideal for lobbies, driveways, courtyards and small car parks. Furthermore it’s perfectly suitable for outdoor use, thanks to the IP67 rating rendering it resistant to water and dust ingress.

As well as the 8MP resolution, the DS-2CD2383G2-IU features other technologies to help provide excellent images. With 120 dB WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology the camera is able to produce clear images against strong backlight as opposed to the object appearing extremely dark against a bright scene. Whilst 3D DNR reduces digital noise for a clear and sharp image. Furthermore, during low light levels, the DS-2CD2383G2-IU is able to use the built-in IR supplement lighting which will illuminate a scene for up to 30m.

Users can install a MicroSD/SDHC/SDXC if they wanted to record on the device itself, separate from a network video recorder. The DS-2CD2383G2-IU can also be viewed remotely via the Hik-Connect smart phone app, where users can be notified of security alerts and via iVMS-4200. 

Please note, at use-IP we strongly recommend powering the DS-2CD2383G2-IU via POE as only one network cable is needed to provide the camera with both power and data. Power can be provided if the camera is plugged directly in to an NVR with POE ports, a POE switch or a POE injector. If it is required that the DS-2CD2383G2-IU needs to be powered by the mains, then a separate PSU will need to be purchased.
